  1. The aim of the association is to collect, preserve and disseminate in an inspiring way historical knowledge in the field of ship propulsion and local shipbuilding, especially for inland navigation from the 17th century to the present day and its relevant economic and social consequences and developments.
    Based on its social responsibility, it recognises the importance of preserving the cultural and industrial historical heritage.<\/li>
  2. It aims to achieve this goal by:
    >> To assemble and maintain a collection of ‘working’ ship propulsion machines such as steam engines and engines, preferably those of the former \u2019Kromhout Motoren Fabriek\u2019.
    >> Making historic shipbuilding visible.
    >> Making archives and photo documentation accessible.
    >> Providing information and education about the use, operation, maintenance and restoration of Kromhout engines.
    >> To conduct research and provide information on the economic changes for boatmasters and their families, working conditions in factories and shipyards and related social and societal developments and tensions.
    >> Information about the history and layout of Amsterdam’s Eastern Islands and that of the \u2019Nieuwe Vaart\u2019 in particular.
    >> To stimulate the preservation of this cultural-historical heritage for a wide audience.<\/li>
  3. The museum also preserves and maintains a collection of other products, special objects and documentation material from the Kromhout Motorenfabriek (KMF) that give a historical picture of the development of the factory and its business operations.<\/li><\/ol>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
